At Braemar, working with our clients is why we do what we do. We love sitting down with people, listening to their ideas and fleshing out a plan. We then assist homeowners with product selection and work with them throughout the renovation process. But if we’re honest, our favorite part is the grand reveal. It is so meaningful to see our clients’ faces once the renovation is complete and their new living space is all they had hoped.
Periodically on the Braemar Blog, we’ll feature a project that we are excited about or one that’s unique or interesting. We recently transformed a tiny, cramped kitchen into a cook’s delight by opening the space, equipping the room with stylish products, and installing efficient, appropriate appliances and features.
Prior to renovation, the kitchen design felt very tight and uncomfortable. The existing space was very small with an eat-in nook and a separate dining area. To enlarge the room and bring about a feeling of openness, we opened up the room into one large space and raised the ceiling to the roof line, aligning it with the neighboring family room. An expansive island was installed. This feature adds to the new layout by allowing the kitchen to function for multiple cooks at one time.
Schrock semi-custom cabinets in cherry combined with modern-style hardware, stainless steel appliances and sleek quartz counter tops give the room a clean, retro feel and look. Unique pendant lighting and custom, arabesque-patterned backsplash provide visual interest and appeal.
Accessories and additional features were added to make this living space optimally functional and aesthetically pleasing. These aspects along with adequate storage allow the room to remain uncluttered, easy-to-use and pleasant.
